Psalm 92:4
For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
It’s good to take time out from the busyness of life and enjoy the amazing creation of God; from the magnificent displays to the discreet touches. During August we have been able to see Saturn and Jupiter in the night sky along with the wonders of a meteor shower. Scientists and astronomers discover new plants and stars frequently and are fascinated by the expanse of the universe. It is absolutely inconceivable and we know the Creator!
Very few can explore space but we have a world at our fingertips filled with beauty and awe. I was at Gosford Forest Park last week and walked two of their different trails. Between the delicate flowers, majestic trees and the sound the stream, it was the most peaceful few hours. When you surround yourself with God’s creation it is just incredible the calming effect it can have on your whole being. It can lift the heaviest heart and wash away tension and stress. No wonder the Psalmist could sing for joy at God’s handiwork. I found myself singing too!
Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing,
Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in you.
Take time out this week to enjoy what God has made and let it fill you with thankfulness, praise and joy.
