Bible Thoughts, Choices

Sow Thoughtfully and Generously

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Galatians 6:7

The idea of sowing and reaping is used quite a lot in the New Testament to help us understand the outcome of our actions and the reward of our deeds. It all comes down to our service to God and our attitude in serving. As followers of Christ, we are to look outward to the needs of others, sowing into their lives. The Lord himself will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and when you sow to the Spirit, the harvest of your righteousness (2Cor9)* will be increased.

The Bible tells us that if we sow selfishly for our own material gain, we reap corruption, but if we sow selflessly to the benefit of others, we reap eternal life.

Each of us have been blessed by God in so many ways and we have an abundance of seeds at our disposal. We can sow kindness and joy, we can sow tenderness and encouragement, we can sow love and respect. When we are faithful to Him who supplies the seed, we will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way*.

Think about what you are sowing because once the seed is planted, the harvest cannot be changed.
