I Am Fully Known (1/3)

You Know All My Ways

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Psalm 139

How many people really know you? Is there anyone that you have told all your dark secrets to, or any of your dark secrets to? When good people do bad, strange or startling things, it is often followed by someone saying, ‘I guess you never really know what’s going on in a person’s head.’

We all have things in our lives, past or present, that we are happy for people not to know, for we cannot bear to see the disappointment in their eyes. There is a fear that if we dared to reveal what has been hidden, our friends or family would think less of us, so we carefully tuck away our indiscretions.

No-one on earth knows us completely, but there is One in heaven who does. Thankfully, we don’t have to hide anything from God. He knows exactly what we have done, what we are currently doing, and what we are planning to do. He has searched out the path of each one of us, from beginning to end and He knows every single step.

If you have confessed to God the wrong path once taken, then that’s it dealt with, and if you want to stay on the right path, then come to God daily and pray:

Search me, O God, and see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

You are fully known by God and he loves you with a love that is complete and steadfast. You can lie down under the blanket of his peace, and when you rise, He clothes you in his grace.
