Faith worked out, Psalms

A Work of Beauty

Let the favour (or beauty) of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! Psalm 90:17

Through the readings this week we have confirmed that the Lord rules over all things and there is nothing that happens that goes unseen. Knowing that he sees the road ahead, we trust in his guidance, rely on his protection and stand on his promises. We follow the path he directs us onto and undertake the work of his kingdom. Being assured that we are following his will and that our labour is done with love, we can call out to God in confidence, saying, ‘Let your beauty, your favour and your blessing fall upon us, in all that we do.’

When we carry out the Lord’s work, according to his plans and purposes, he will establish it; he will make it beautiful.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3

We know from Psalm 93, that anything established by God will not be moved. The enemy can push and shove all he wants but he will never tear down anything that God has built up.

Never stop believing in the sovereignty of the Lord, in his ability to be your steadfast foundation, or his willingness to bless all that you do for Him, and make it beautiful.
