Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.Proverbs 16:20
There are lots of different things taking place in our lives on a continual basis. It is a conveyor-belt of ‘matters’ that need our undivided attention. The problem with this constant demand is that it can cause us to make hasty decisions, some of which cannot be reversed.
The Hebrew word ‘debar’ which is translated here as ‘word’, can also be translated as ‘matter’. Wisdom comes when we avoid hastily made decisions and instead ponder over the matter at hand. Allowing ourselves time to think things through and pray over them, helps us to gain a better perspective. As we hand each circumstance over to the will of God and directing of the Holy Spirit, we allow Wisdom to take her place and guide our decisions.
In giving appropriate time to each matter or circumstance, and entrusting it into the hands of God, we give ourselves the opportunity to discover the good, or best path to take.
There is a peace that comes when the right decision is made, and happy is the one who trust in the Lord.
