God’s Word, God’s Work

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Psalm 19:1

The heavens cannot help but continually declare the glory and majesty of God. Sun and moon, stars and planets cannot be silent and every day ‘their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world’ (v4).

There are endless wonders on the earth and in the sea that cause us amazement and awe, and there are so many more that we will never see in our lifetime. The same is true of the heavenly expanse. Some people are drawn to the wonder and through them we get to see God’s creative genius on a whole different level. From unseen life below the waters to unseen marvels above the sky.

The Bible is the greatest, most powerful, book anyone can ever own, for through it God reveals himself to all who wish to know him; creation is no different. Studying the Bible draws us near to God and helps us hear his voice; studying creation does likewise. It is also God’s voice and it proclaims his never-ending-story day after day and night after night.

God reveals the very essence of who he is through his Word and through his Work. Don’t neglect to learn from either one and listen for his voice through both.
