We may know the Holy Spirit best as Comforter and Helper but His power is so much deeper. His attributes are vast and we should not neglect to understand them and strive to possess them.
Solomon is probably the most well-known for seeking and asking for wisdom but there were others that were noted for having it. Of Daniel we read, “I have heard of you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you” (Dan5:14), and we also read that Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom (Deut34).
This is not something for the chosen few only. In Proverbs 8, Wisdom speaks and declares ‘I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me’. If God is your Lord and Saviour then the Spirit of God lives within you which means you literally have wisdom and understanding at your fingertips! Just seek and ask.
When you know and understand a subject you can then talk confidently to anyone about it. This is never more important than with the Word of God; when you know the Word and understand the truth of it, you can speak with absolute confidence.
PRAY that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him (Eph1:17).
