Mutual Benefit

Romans 1:12

…that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.

Exercising faith in God is a personal decision and choosing to follow Him is something we have to decide on our own. We cannot sail along on the deck of someone else’s salvation. That first step in believing is all about you and God but when you start your walk, it’s about fellowship. God’s word tells us to encourage one another and build one another up (Thes5:11).

We all know how easy it is to stumble along the way, so, in order to help each other not to fall away from the living God we are called to exhort (encourage) one another every day because we have come to share in Christ (Heb3:12-14).

Our walk with God should not be a solitary experience. We are to support and help each other grow in faith. Whether you have been saved 1 day or 46 years, we all have something to share. Together we have years of experience; we have each known God’s mercy, grace and goodness in our lives. We can be an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, a hand to help.

Don’t ever think you have nothing to offer. You have the Spirit of God within you and none of us are beyond learning. Let God work through you and let us be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
