Psalms

Continually Praise

Psalm 34

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

David wrote this Psalm during the time that Saul was pursuing him, to kill him, and yet he never stopped praising God. What faith.

6) This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. 7) The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

We have a God who can actually hear our cries; a God who listen to our calls of distress. His compassion toward us moves Him to actively surround us with love, mercy, and for added protection… the angel of the Lord. How incredible is that?

8) Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

No wonder David wants everyone to experience the goodness of the Lord. Nothing else even comes close. What a blessing indeed, to be encompassed in the protection of God.

15) The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. 18) The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

A God who not only hears us but see us. He sees our fragile state; He see the things that cause us distress and that rob us of hope and joy. At those time, He draws near to us and holds us until our song returns.

What a mighty God we serve. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
